Kano State Sports Commission Commemorates One-Year Remembrance of 22 Deceased Athletes

The Acting Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Dr. Murtala Musa, on behalf of the management and staff of the Commission, joins the families of the deceased athletes, the sporting community, and the entire people of Kano State in commemorating the one-year remembrance of the 22 athletes who tragically lost their lives while returning from the National Youth Sports Festival in Ogun State on May 31, 2025.

As the state reflects on the painful loss, Dr. Musa described the late athletes as dedicated ambassadors who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Kano State. He noted that their commitment, patriotism, and contributions to sports development will never be forgotten.

The Acting Chairman extended his deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and prayed for the eternal repose of their souls. He also prayed for strength, comfort, and perseverance for the families as they continue to bear the irreplaceable loss.
