The Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, Sayyida Bahijja Malam Kabara, has called on mothers and caregivers to closely monitor the movements and activities of their children during the Sallah festivities.
In a press release issued in Kano, Sayyida Bahijja Malam Kabara stressed the importance of parental vigilance and guidance during the festive period to ensure the safety, wellbeing and moral upbringing of children.
She also urged families, especially women, to maintain proper hygiene while preparing and handling Sallah meat in order to prevent health-related challenges and promote healthy living within communities.
According to her, cleanliness and proper food handling remain essential, particularly during festive periods when large quantities of food are prepared and shared among relatives, neighbours and friends.
The NAWOJ Chairperson further encouraged residents to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to show love, kindness and compassion to neighbours, the less privileged and the needy in society, noting that the spirit of Sallah teaches sacrifice, unity and generosity.
